Jacob
Fraden was born and educated in Russia, in the industrial
city of Sverdlovsk (presently Ekaterinburg), a thousand miles
east from Moscow. He holds M.S. in electrical and Ph.D. in biomedical
electronic engineering. From 1977 he has lived in the USA
Jacob holds over 50 patents for
medical electronic instruments, electrical appliances, security
devices, and even toys. These inventions resulted in multimillion
dollar businesses employing thousands of people in several countries.
His inventions include the Home Blood Pressure Monitor, the Thermoscan
Instant Thermometer which measures temperature from the ear of
a patient in just one second, various sensors and even toys.
He
published over 60 scientific papers and book chapters. His Handbook
of Modern Sensors (3 editions since 1992) is on the top of the bestsellers
list among the books on physics. While living in Russia, he had
directed movies, worked as a TV correspondent, designed electronic
music instruments, and even conducted the ESP experiments. Presently,
he is Chief Technology Officer of Kaz, Inc., one of the largest U.S. companies producing high-tech health related products for home use.
